Noida Tragedy: Man Kills Girlfriend, Attempts Suicide; Faces Murder Charges

In a tragic incident in Noida, a 22-year-old woman was reportedly strangled to death by her lover, who subsequently attempted to end his own life. The distressing event unfolded in Chhijarsi village, drawing immediate attention from local authorities and residents alike.

The accused, a 42-year-old man, has been charged with murder and is currently under police custody. Following the attack, he attempted suicide by slitting his throat with a blade. He is now receiving medical treatment in a hospital, according to police reports.

Additional DCP of Central Noida, Hirdesh Katheriya, detailed the sequence of events leading to the police's discovery of the crime. The Sector 63 Police Station received a call around 10 pm on Wednesday from locals in Chhijarsi village, alerting them to the incident. Upon arrival, officers found both individuals in a critical condition and promptly transported them to a hospital. There, the woman, identified as Nisha from Ballia district and residing in Delhi, was pronounced dead. The man, Dhananjay Kumar of Chhijarsi village, was admitted for his injuries.

Investigations revealed that Nisha and Dhananjay had been in a romantic relationship for approximately one year. However, an argument erupted between them during Nisha's visit to Dhananjay's residence on Wednesday. It escalated to the point where Dhananjay strangled Nisha, leading to her untimely death. The exact cause of their dispute remains unclear as police continue their investigation.

The police have registered an FIR under IPC section 302 for murder against Dhananjay Kumar. He will be presented in court once discharged from the hospital. This incident has left the community in shock as law enforcement works to uncover further details surrounding this heinous act.
