Noida International Airport Booking Opens, IndiGo To Launch First Flight From June 15

A major step in boosting air connectivity in North India has begun, as flight bookings for Noida International Airport (NIA) have officially gone live from Thursday evening. The development marks the beginning of commercial operations at the much-awaited airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.

Indigo Airport Opens Ticket Sales

Leading carrier IndiGo has started selling tickets for flights to and from Noida International Airport. The airport code is now visible in the airline's booking system, allowing passengers to plan their journeys in advance.

According to sources, the first flight is expected to operate on June 15, connecting Lucknow to Noida, marking the airport's official entry into India's aviation network.

First Flights from June 15

IndiGo confirmed that it will be the first airline to begin commercial operations from the new airport. The airline plans to gradually expand its services from NIA, connecting it to over 16 destinations across India.

These routes will include major metro cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, along with important tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Srinagar, and Pantnagar.

Bookings are being opened in phases through IndiGo's website, mobile app, and authorised travel agents.

Strategic Importance of NIA

Located along the Yamuna Expressway, Noida International Airport is set to become a key gateway for western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR). It will serve as the third major airport in the NCR, alongside Delhi and Ghaziabad-region facilities.

IndiGo's Chief Strategy Officer, Aloke Singh, highlighted that large metropolitan regions like NCR are evolving to support multiple airports, improving passenger convenience and reducing congestion.

A Major Greenfield Airport Project

Noida International Airport is one of India's largest greenfield airport projects. It has been designed to support both domestic and future international travel.

The airport is being developed with a focus on multi-modal connectivity, including strong road and rail links. This will help connect Delhi-NCR with surrounding regions, making travel faster and more accessible.
