Noida Authority Cracks Down on Illegal Billboards, Imposes Penalties

On Wednesday, the authority imposed penalties worth Rs 5 lakh each on six offenders, including two schools, a hospital, and a banquet hall.

Fines for Illegal Unipoles

The GNIDA's Urban Services Department conducted inspections at various locations in the city and identified several illegal unipoles. These unipoles are frame structures mounted atop a single column and are commonly used for outdoor advertising. The following institutions were found to have violated the rules and were subsequently fined:

• Shri Ram Global School
• Yatharth Super Specialty Hospital
• Saawariya Banquet Hall
• Delhi World Public School
• Apex Eye and IVF Center
• Sumiram Sai Realtors

Each of these institutions was slapped with a penalty of Rs 5 lakh, totaling Rs 30 lakh in fines.

Warning and Further Action

The GNIDA has issued a stern warning to the penalized entities, stating that if the fines are not deposited into the authority's account within a week, recovery certificates will be issued. Additionally, the authority plans to remove all illegal unipoles that disrupt traffic movement, even if they do not contain advertisements.

Continued Vigilance

Indu Prakash Singh, GNIDA's Officer on Special Duty, emphasized that the authority will continue to take strict action against those who illegally set up statutory poles. This move is aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining the aesthetic and safety standards of the city.
