20,000 People Gather at Dalit Prerna Sthal to Pay Tributes to Kanshi Ram
Over 20k people gathered at Noida's Dalit Prerna Sthal to pay tributes to Kanshi Ram on his death anniversary. Traffic management and parking arrangements ensured smooth flow.
On the 9th of October, over 20,000 people convened at the Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida to commemorate the death anniversary of Kanshi Ram, a revered icon among India's Dalit community and founder of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). This day is known as Parinirvan Divas. The sheer volume of attendees testifies to Kanshi Ram's enduring influence on Indian society and politics.

The event saw an influx of people from different parts of the country who arrived in hundreds of vehicles throughout Monday. To manage this surge, traffic police implemented route diversions between Noida and Greater Noida with an aim to prevent congestion. Despite these measures, due to overcrowding, slight bottlenecks were reported on Dadri main road and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Managing Traffic During The Event
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav around 8,000 vehicles including numerous buses reached the venue. In order to accommodate this large number parking arrangements were made at nearby locations he said. A traffic advisory was also issued by his department instructing all officers and personnel to enforce guidelines aimed at managing vehicular movement during this large-scale gathering.
A Comprehensive Plan for Smooth Traffic Management
To ensure smooth traffic flow amidst such heavy footfall, a comprehensive plan was put into place by dividing Dalit Prerna Sthal along with its surrounding area into one super zone, four zones and twelve sectors. This division allowed for more efficient control over traffic management during this high-profile event.
Use Of Technology For Surveillance
In addition to physical policing efforts there was also use of technology for surveillance purposes. As part of Integrated Security and Traffic Management initiative about 150 cameras were installed on various routes leading to the venue. These cameras continuously monitored the traffic flow providing real-time data for effective management of vehicular movement.
In conclusion, the death anniversary of Kanshi Ram at Noida's Dalit Prerna Sthal drew a massive crowd illustrating the profound impact and respect he continues to command among India's Dalit community. The successful management of such a large gathering also highlights how efficient planning and use of technology can ensure smooth conduct of major public events. While this event is a testament to Kanshi Ram's enduring legacy it also underscores the significance of well-planned urban infrastructure in managing mass gatherings effectively.
