No threat to Sasikala's life in Bengaluru jail: IB

Jail authorities claim that there has been no threat to convicted AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan, and they have not received any complaints from her either

The Karnataka state intelligence bureau in its assessment has said that convicted AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan faces no threat to her life. The report gains significance amid demands being made by some members of the AIADMK to shift her from the Bengaluru Central jail to a prison in Chennai.

The IB says that after a thorough assessment, it has found that she faces no threat to her life in jail. There is adequate security provided to her and she faces no issues from the other inmates.

Prison authorities too confirmed that there is no threat to her life. "All measures have been taken to provide her adequate security. So far we have not got any complaints from her," authorities say.

Sasikala is said to be meeting with her legal advisors on whether to file an application to seeking to shift her out of the Bengaluru prison. Karnataka would however object to the application when it is filed. If she claims that there is a threat to her life, then Karnataka will object to it and even demonstrate before the court that the claim is false, officials said.
