No concrete evidence if 39 Indians are alive or not: Iraqi foreign minister
The Iraqi government is clueless about the whereabouts or the living conditions of 39 missing Indians but enured it will do its best in order to find them.
New Delhi, July 24: Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr Ibrahim Al-Jafari met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday and told reporters that his government has no substantial evidence whether the 39 Indians who went missing in Mosul were killed or are still alive. "Not sure 100 per cent whether they are alive or not. We are doing our best," Al-Jafari said.
They were kidnapped by the Islamic State terror group in Mosul three years ago.
Al-Jaafari, who is on a visit to India from July 24 to July 28, met with Swaraj for a discussion on bilateral relations between the two nations.
While briefing the mediapersons here, the Iraqi minister said, "Can't confirm anything about the missing Indians," adding that his government will continue to its level best to trace them.
