‘No Sheeshmahal, Only Nation-Building’: PM Modi Targets AAP, Arvind Kejriwal In Lok Sabha Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha during the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, emphasizing his government's efforts in poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, and economic reforms.

Jibe at Rahul Gandhi Over 'Photo Ops'

Taking a swipe at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi remarked, "Those who have photo sessions in the huts of the poor, for their own entertainment, will find the mention of the poor in Parliament boring." The comment came as he underlined his government's focus on improving the lives of the underprivileged.

Key Achievements Highlighted by PM Modi

Housing for the Poor: The government has provided 4 crore houses to the underprivileged, acknowledging the struggles of those without shelter.
Sanitation Revolution: More than 12 crore toilets have been built to improve hygiene and the dignity of women.
LED Revolution: Modi highlighted that LED bulbs, once sold for ₹400, now cost ₹40, saving citizens around ₹20,000 crores in electricity bills.
Corruption-Free Governance: Unlike previous regimes, which were plagued by scams, the last 10 years have been free of major corruption scandals, ensuring that public money is used for development rather than luxury.

Vision for a 'Viksit Bharat'

Reflecting on the nation's progress, PM Modi stated that 25% of the 21st century has passed, and the focus should now be on building trust and confidence for the next 25 years. He praised the President's Address, saying it strengthens the resolve for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) and inspires common citizens.

Digital Governance & Financial Reforms

PM Modi also touched upon financial leakages in past governments, recalling that an ex-Prime Minister had once lamented that only 15 paise of every rupee sent from Delhi reached the poor. In contrast, his government introduced direct benefit transfers, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

He added, "For me, there is not single AI, there is double AI, which is the double strength of India. An AI-Artificial Intelligence and the second AI is - Aspirational India..."

'Nation-Building Over Luxury'

Defending his government's fiscal discipline, PM Modi asserted, "We have taken several steps to save public money, but we have not used that money to build a 'Sheeshmahal' (palace of glass). Instead, we have used it to build the nation."

PM Modi expressed gratitude to the people for the opportunity to respond to the Motion of Thanks for the 14th time, emphasizing his commitment to public service and national development.

With a focus on economic reforms, welfare initiatives, and corruption-free governance, PM Modi's speech set the tone for his government's continued agenda as the country moves forward toward Viksit Bharat 2047.
