The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earlier registered a suicide abetment case against KJ George in connection with suicide of Ganapathy. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president, BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday demanded that George be immediately removed from the cabinet.

"KJ George inducted back in cabinet after CID's B report, now BJP asking for resignation, he doesn't need to resign..George was home minister then, He's not a home minister now, so in no way can he can influence CBI," Siddaramaiah told the media in Bengaluru.

Yeddyurappa warned of launching a statewide agitation if George is not removed immediately from the Cabinet. He alleged that George's presence in the state government will make fair probe difficult.

George, on his part, said that the CBI has filed the FIR based on the old complaint. He said he would only react after getting full details of the FIR.

"Let them investigate. They're supposed to finish it in 3 months. Let them give a report. After that, I will react," he said on Thursday.
