There's No INDIA Alliance In West Bengal, Says Mamata Banerjee, Alleges Congress Joined Hands With BJP

The first leg of seven seven-phase Lok Sabha elections 2024 took place on Friday, April 19 at 102 seats of 21 states and union territories. The electors have recorded the fates of more than 1600 candidates in the EVMs, and the result will be announced on June 4. Amid a neck-and-neck contest between BJP-led NDA and Opposition's INDIA bloc, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted Congress and alleged that the grand old party has joined hands with the BJP against her.

Addressing a public rally in Murshidabad, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged people not to cast votes for Congress and the CPI (M), and to support Trinamool Congress candidates. Cleared the air, TMC supremo slammed Congress and CPI (M) saying "There is no INDIA alliance in West Bengal."

"I played a key role in the formation of the opposition alliance INDIA. Even the name of the alliance was given by her. But here in West Bengal, the CPI (M) and Congress are working for the BJP, There is no INDIA alliance in West Bengal." Mamata Banerjee said.

She further said if the people of West Bengal want to defeat the BJP, then they should not elect Congress or CPI (M).

West Bengal CM also accused the BJP of inciting violence during Ram Navami, reiterating that violence in Murshidabad district was "pre-planned".

On the other hand, the BJP has been accusing Mamata Banerjee for a paralyzed law and order situation in the state as her authorities working under the Chief Minister failed to protect Bengali Hindus.
