No-confidence motion: BJP sends out a loud message to NDA

New Delhi, July 20: For the BJP, the no-confidence is about everything, but the numbers. It has the support of over 300 MPs and individually, it boasts of 273 members in Parliament.

The BJP would look to show case its government ahead of the 2019 elections and also counter the opposition's narrative. However there is also another exercise on the cards and that is to project that the NDA is intact.

No-confidence motion: BJP sends out a loud message to NDA

Ahead of the 2019 elections, the party wants to ensure that there is no further shake up within the NDA. The Shiv Sena sulks everyday and the TDP has walked out of the NDA.

In a bid to send a strong message to its alliance partners, Ram Vilas Paswan and Harsimrat Kaur Badal would be responding to the trust vote in Parliament.

Paswan is from the Lok Janshakti Party, while Kaur is part of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Paswan is expected to counter any narrative by the opposition in case it calls the NDA government as anti-Dalit.

The no-confidence motion was brought by the TDP, a former BJP ally with the support of the opposition parties.
