Nitish Kumar To Resign As Bihar CM After Lok Sabha Election Results Are Out?
Talks of Nitish Kumar's potential resignation as Bihar Chief Minister are intensifying. Speculations suggest various political moves, including a shift in alliance or joining the Modi cabinet, with significant implications for Bihar and NDA's strategy.
Rumours are rife in political circles that Nitish Kumar may resign as Bihar Chief Minister soon, News18 reported.
According to the report, he might possibly resign within three weeks, which raises questions about whether he will remain with the NDA or return to the INDIA bloc.

Many insist that this time, the Bihar Chief Minister will remain with the NDA. Some believe he will make way for a BJP Chief Minister in Bihar. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, who belongs to the Koeri caste like Kumar, is expected to replace him. This was reportedly a condition for Nitish Kumar's return to the NDA.
Nonetheless, there is no official comment on this issue by either sides. Most dismiss it as "gossip", the report added. However, these speculations are growing as Nitish Kumar arrived in New Delhi on Sunday. On Monday morning, he reached 7 Lok Kalyan Marg and is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah later.
Political Implications of Nitish Kumar's Resignation
The timing of these meetings fuels more rumours. On the same day, the BJP sent a form to all candidates to be filled and returned to party chief JP Nadda. This form is for selecting members of the council of ministers for the Modi government 3.0. This comes after a meeting between PM Modi, Shah, and Nadda on Sunday.
A highly placed BJP source said: "These are purely in the realms of speculation. I will not get into it. But yes, the BJP won't fight the next assembly election under Nitish Kumar's leadership or on a similar-strength basis. Nitish Babu is ageing and is not the same persona as he used to be."
The key question remains: if Nitish Kumar resigns as Bihar CM, will he join the Modi cabinet? And if he does, will PM Modi return him the railway portfolio?
Nitish Kumar's decisions will significantly impact Bihar's political landscape and the NDA's future strategies. The developments are being closely watched, and any move by Kumar could have major implications for the upcoming elections.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made his second political volte-face in January as he rejoined the BJP-led NDA alliance.
