The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JDU-BJP coalition government in Bihar has made a significant decision to benefit the state's youths. In a cabinet meeting held on Friday evening, the Bihar government decided to introduce an "unemployment allowance" for jobless youths across the state.

The cabinet, led by Nitish Kumar, approved the Bihar Unemployment Allowance Rules 2024, incorporating provisions under MNREGA.

Process for Allowance

Under the newly approved rules, eligible individuals who remain unemployed after applying for jobs will receive a daily unemployment allowance from the state government if they do not secure employment within fifteen days of their application. This allowance aims to support job seekers by providing financial assistance within specified limits, starting from the date of their application.

Bihar Cabinet Approves 25 Agendas

Following the Lok Sabha elections, the Council of Ministers convened a key meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday.

During this session, the Cabinet deliberated and approved a total of 25 agendas. With Bihar anticipated to hold assembly elections next year, CM Kumar's decision to introduce the unemployment allowance is being hailed as a strategic move to benefit the youth of Bihar.
