Nitish Kumars London Visit: Science City, Water Management in Focus

Patna, March 10: During his ongoing visit to London, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar received visits from several notable individuals, including Vikram K Doraiswami, the Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Kumar, who has been abroad for about a week, also met with Baba Mohinder Singh, the Jathedar of UK Seva Dal, a Sikh organization, and a group of Biharis settled in Britain.

During his meeting with Doraiswami, Kumar shared his impressions of the renowned science museum in London, which he had visited a few days prior. He also informed the envoy about the upcoming science city in Patna, named after former president APJ Abdul Kalam. The science city aims to highlight the scientific contributions of ancient India, including those from the city of Pataliputra, the historical name for Patna.

Appreciation for Scotland's Water Management

Kumar expressed his admiration for the water management techniques adopted in Scotland, a region with abundant water resources similar to Bihar. He conveyed his interest in utilizing Scotland's expertise to address water-related challenges in Bihar, which experiences both droughts and floods in different areas.

Recognition from Sikh Community

Baba Mohinder Singh felicitated Chief Minister Kumar for his efforts in organizing the 350th Prakash Parv six years ago, an event that celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, who was born in Patna. Singh also commended Kumar for the construction of a magnificent Gurudwara in Rajgir, a pilgrimage site visited by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.

A delegation of non-resident Biharis met with Kumar and expressed their appreciation for the all-round progress achieved by the state under his leadership. They acknowledged the positive changes and developments that have taken place in Bihar during his tenure.
