Nitish Kumar govt plans to knock all houses with Gandhian philosophy

Patna, April 11: Observing that though everybody takes name of Gandhiji but only few follow his ideology, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said his government plans to knock every house with Gandhian philosophy.

Kumar was speaking at a function related to Gandhiji visit to Muzaffarpur and his talks with Indigo planters Association chief Wilson a century ago. "Today an environment of intolerance is prevailing...we wish to take the country on the path of Gandhian philosophy," he said.
Kumar, the man behind grand celebration of 100 years of Champaran Satyagraha launched by father of the nation, said his government has chalked out elaborate programme to knock every house with life and thoughts of Bapu till April 21 next year. A rath would start its journey from Patna tomorrow across the state for an year to make people aware of different aspects of Gandhian values, he said.
Films based on Gandhiji would be shown in villages. A total of 50 stories have been chosen out of which one story would be narrated to students daily after morning prayer in schools to make them aware of the Bapu's views, he said. In an apparent dig at rival BJP, Kumar, who is also JD(U) National President, said "those whose focus is only to cash on name of Gandhiji are also organising programmes on the occasion of centenary celebration of Champaran satyagraha."
BJP has planned a march on April 19 at Motihari as part of centenary celebration of Gandhiji agitation against forced indigo cultivation during British rule in 1917. BJP President Amit Shah would be present at the programme. Kumar said Gandhians have been invited from across the country to prepare an national agenda based on Bapu ideology to end one-way imposition of views in the country on Tuesday.
In Patna, the two-day Rashtriya Vimarsh (national discussion) ended on Tuesday. Former West Bengal Governor, Gopal Krishna Gandhi, grandson of Mahatama Gandhi, three other kins of Bapu, Raj Mohan Gandhi, Tushar Gandhi and Tara Gandhi participated in the discussion and emphasised to imbibe views of Gandhiji in life.

The resolution expressed anxiety growing violence, fascist tendency and efforts to divide people as dangerous.
It further stressed that this could be rid over with the help of our heritage of Gandhiji life and views and gospel of ahimsa. It stressed on promoting Jan Sahyog (peoples cooperation) Lok Samvad (public discourse) in place of state's wanton discretion over use of land, river, forest, mountains.
