Nitish Kumar Elected As JDU Chief Post Lalan Singh's Exit
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been elected as President of the Janata Dal (United) during the party's national executive meeting held in Delhi on Friday morning. His appointment followed immediately after Lalan Singh resigned from the position.

Lalan Singh now joins a list of party seniors, including George Fernandes, Sharad Yadav, RCP Singh, Upendra Kushwaha, and strategist Prashant Kishor, who were replaced despite their close ties with Nitish Kumar.
As the JDU gears up for the crucial Lok Sabha 2024 elections, significant decisions about its organizational structure are on the horizon.
Addressing speculations of internal discord within the JDU, Nitish Kumar clarified before departing for Delhi that the party's two-day conclave was a routine and customary event. He emphasized that the gathering was part of the party's annual practice and didn't signify anything out of the ordinary.
