Nirmala Sitharaman's Daughter Ties the Knot in Intimate Ceremony

Despite being the daughter of one of India's influential women, she chose simplicity over grandeur, forgoing an extravagant wedding or a lavish destination ceremony.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's daughter, Parakala Vangamayi, exchanged vows with Prateek in a simple, traditional ceremony held at their residence in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The event garnered attention for its simplicity, as no political leaders were extended invitations, according to media reports.

Embracing the traditions of their Brahmin culture, the wedding followed customary rituals, with the presence of revered seers from Udupi Adamaru Mutt who graced the occasion to bless the newlyweds. The ceremony was meticulously conducted in adherence to the Vedic order of Adamaru Mutt.

Vangamayi has been associated with the Books and Culture section of Mint Lounge's features department. Prior to this, she had worked as a features writer for The Hindu. She holds a master's degree in Journalism from the prestigious Northwestern Medill School of Journalism.

Viral videos from the wedding captured enchanting moments, portraying Vangamayi adorned in a graceful pink saree, while Prateek looked dashing in a white shawl and traditional pancha attire.

Sitharaman was seen donning a vibrant blue saree paired with a vibrant orange blouse, radiated joy and happiness as she celebrated her daughter's special day.
