NIRF Ranking 2024 Released: Check Out List Of Top 10 Top Institutions In Engineering
The much-anticipated National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings for 2024 have been released by the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. These rankings, which have become a crucial benchmark for educational institutions in India, cover 13 categories, including universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, and innovation.
The rankings are determined by a variety of factors, such as teaching quality, learning resources, research output, graduation outcomes, inclusivity efforts, and overall perception.

Top Institutions In Engineering
For the sixth consecutive year, IIT Madras has secured the top spot in the overall category, reinforcing its reputation as a premier institution in India. It is followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and IIT Delhi, both of which have consistently ranked among the best in the country. In the highly competitive engineering category, IIT Madras also emerged as the leader, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay rounding out the top three.

In the universities category, IISc Bangalore maintained its dominance, while Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia secured second and third places, respectively. AIIMS Delhi continued its reign in the medical category, further solidifying its status as the top medical institution in India.
Hindu College in Delhi took the top spot in the colleges category, and IIM Ahmedabad was ranked highest in the management category, reflecting its excellence in producing top-tier business leaders. This year's rankings were highly competitive, with a total of 10,885 applications submitted across various categories.
Innovation and Agriculture: Leading the Way
In the innovation category, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras were recognized as top innovators, with IIT Hyderabad and IIT Delhi also making significant contributions. These institutions are driving cutting-edge research and technological advancements, positioning India as a global innovation hub.
For agriculture and allied sectors, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi and the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) in Karnal led the rankings. Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana and Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi were also notable performers, showcasing their commitment to advancing agricultural research and education in India.
Top Research Institutes
The NIRF rankings also highlighted the top research institutes in the country. IISc Bengaluru led the pack, followed by IIT Madras and IIT Delhi. IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur also featured prominently, underscoring their contributions to scientific research and development.
