Nirbhaya case: Defence counsel blames political pressure now!

In an interesting twist in the case, the lawyer now blames Sushilkumar Shinde for convicting his clients. A report on CNN-IBN says that this is not the first time that the home minister has been blamed by the lawyers in case of a 'guilty' verdict.
Strangely, the lawyer fails to understand that even if the home minister had influenced the verdict to take this course, it would get public support anyways.
A few minutes after the court pronounced the men guilty, AP Singh, the defence lawyer spoke to the reporters, saying that the case against his clients should have been acquitted and that it had been made under political pressure.
He further cites Sushil Kumar Shinde's expression of confidence on the death penalty of the convicts, implying that the fate of the convicts was already decided and that the entire trial process was a sham. The lawyer planned to place the case in front of the High Court as his clients were "innocent" and were "shocked at the decision of the fast track court."
We wish the defence the best!
