Delhi:Nido Taniam's death finally touches Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh
After their meeting with Mrs Gandhi, Nido's father Nido Pavitra informed that Mrs Gandhi asked them to meet Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde once again and "and form a committee for time-bound enquiry."
Death of 19-year-old Nido, who was killed in South Delhi last month, created ruckus in the country showing that our own people are not safe enough in the national capital.
CBI to investigate Nido Taniam's death in South Delhi, said Home Minister
The Home Minister earlier had recommended an investigation by investigative agency -- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Meanwhile, Delhi Police too informed
Delhi High Court that a special investigative unit has been set up to probe attacks on people from the North-Eastern states of the country. It also proposed a special battalion with police personnel from the Northeast. A separate help desk is also being formed.
Postmortem report of Nido claimed that the young student died due to injuries to head and face caused by blunt object. It confirmed that severe internal bleeding led to his death following a fight with a shopkeeper and his aides in a South Delhi locality.
