NIA Probe Finds Terrorists Filmed Pahalgam Attack Using Body Cameras

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has unearthed disturbing information while investigating the April 22 terror incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Officials claim that the terrorists who committed the atrocity affixed body cameras on themselves in order to capture the entire event on tape.

Since then, the NIA has been actively investigating the case, which was filed on the day of the incident. NIA investigators have recorded testimony from victims' families in a number of states, including West Bengal, Odisha, and Maharashtra, according to officials. To collect survivor testimonials, separate teams have also been sent out around the country.

After the incident, a group of NIA officers rushed to the crime scene with the help of the local police and have remained there for a considerable amount of time. In an effort to piece together what happened before the slaughter, investigators are closely examining every entrance and exit in the Pahalgam neighbourhood of Baisaran.

Approximately five to seven terrorists were involved in the incident, according to preliminary assessments. At least two locals who had received training in Pakistan, according to investigators, helped them. Three terrorists, Abu Talha, Suleman Shah, and Asif Fauji, have had their sketches made public by security services. They are all Pakistani nationals.

Senior NIA personnel, such as an Inspector General (IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Superintendent of Police (SP), are overseeing the probe. As part of the investigation, eyewitnesses who escaped the slaughter in the typically tranquil Baisaran Valley are being closely questioned.

Twenty-six people, mostly tourists, were killed in the Pahalgam terror assault, and over a dozen others were injured. In Jammu and Kashmir, it is considered to be among the most catastrophic acts of terrorism since Article 370 was repealed in 2019. The government has not yet formally acknowledged the exact numbers, despite the fact that the number of casualties has been widely published.

Security personnel have conducted massive search efforts to find the terrorists responsible for the incident. The area has seen a marked increase in security, as evidenced by images of deserted streets in Pahalgam, a town that is typically bustling with tourists.
