NIA Raids In J&K's Rajouri
Following directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the case was taken over by the NIA on June 15. The raids in Rajouri were based on leads provided by Hakam Khan aka Hakin Din, a key suspect arrested on June 19 in connection with the Reasi terror attack.
According to initial investigations by the NIA, Din was allegedly involved in providing safe havens, logistical support, and sustenance to the terrorists responsible for the attack. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma stated that Din was a prime militant associate who assisted the terrorists in carrying out the attack, as reported by Hindustan Times.
She further mentioned that during interrogation, Din disclosed that three terrorists had been sheltered at his residence. Additionally, it was revealed that the terrorists had paid him ₹6,000, which has since been recovered. June witnessed a series of terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting a review of the security situation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Modi emphasized the government's serious concern over the recent attacks and pledged uncompromising efforts to deter adversaries of the country, as per media reports. "The enemies of peace and humanity are not pleased with the development in Jammu and Kashmir. There have been recent terror attacks... the government has taken them seriously. The Home Minister, along with the J&K Administration, has assessed the situation," Modi remarked during his two-day visit to Srinagar.
