NIA conduct searches in Kerala, TN for allegedly supporting IS on social media
Coimbatore, Aug 3: The National Investigation Agency on Thursday conducted searches at two locations in Coimbatore in connection with the secret meeting of IS-inspired Umar Al Hindi module at Kanakamala near Panoor in Kannur district of Kerala in October 2016.

Based on posts on some social media platforms, NIA officials zeroed in on the duo in the city and were carrying out inquiry, they said.
The two reportedly posted content on Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter, supporting the activities of the IS. The questioning was going on at the residence of one of the two persons here, police said, adding adequate police personnel were deployed in the area.
