NIA to ask Pakistan for details on Mohammad Naved
New Delhi, Aug 12: India will make a formal request to Pakistan seeking details on Mohammad Naved the terrorist arrested in connection with the Udhampur attack.
A formal request would be sent to the Pakistan government seeking details of his residence, family and also his training programme.
Since it has been ascertained by Naved's own admission that he is a Pakistani national, India would want to back that with more proof as it is essential for the investigation.
Pakistan has already disowned Naved:
India would go ahead and make that request despite, Pakistan already making it clear that Naved is not their national.
Pakistan had said that the data base does not indicate that there is any Mohammad Naved staying at Faisalbad. The reaction from Pakistan was very similar to the one they gave in the case of Ajmal Kasab, the 26/11 attacker.
However India would be interested in knowing what is the official line that Pakistan takes in the case of Naved. A source in the National Investigating Agency informed OneIndia that a letter seeking details about Naved would be written to Pakistan.
The NIA which has the custody of Naved would like to ascertain more details from Pakistan regarding him.
We are quite aware of what the Paksitan response to our letter would be, but as part of the process we still need to send out a formal letter seeking out details since Naved is their national, the NIA officer also informed.
