NHRC and MEA Collaborate to Enhance Human Rights through Capacity Building Programme for NHRIs
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) are set to conduct a capacity-building programme. Senior officers from National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in eight countries will participate, including the Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Jordan.

Focus on Human Rights Enhancement
The six-day programme is tailored for senior NHRI officials from the Global South. It aims to bolster human rights promotion and protection across various regions. The NHRC's collaboration with the MEA underscores India's commitment to fostering international cooperation in human rights.
Participants will gain insights into India's extensive experience in human rights over three decades. The programme highlights India's civilisational ethos of empathy and compassion. It serves as a platform for sharing best practices and ideas related to human rights promotion and protection.
Comprehensive Learning Experience
Attendees will engage in technical sessions covering diverse human rights aspects. Topics include NHRC's online complaint management system and advanced investigation techniques. Emerging human rights issues will also be discussed, alongside the impact of business, technology, and sustainable development.
The programme is designed to enrich participants' knowledge through interactive learning. By sharing experiences and best practices, attendees can enhance their understanding of effective human rights strategies. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen global efforts in safeguarding human rights.
