NGT lifts ban on construction activities in Delhi, ban on industries to continue
The National Green Tribunal has now provided relief to construction activities in the national capital
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday lifted its ban on construction activities in New Delhi. The ban on industries and burning of crops, however, will continue. The NGT's order comes as a relief to real estate giants in the national capital. While allowing construction activities, the NGT asked for preventive measures to be taken in order to control air pollution.

On Thursday, the NGT had directed the Delhi government to submit data of ambient air quality. A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar, on Friday lifted the ban on construction activity will asking for prohibitory orders on industries to continue.
The NGT also added that sprinkling of water will continue where particles are dense. The same measures will also to be implemented in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The NGT has given two weeks time to the governments of New Delhi and neighboring states to file a status report.
