NGO seeks police action against AK Ganguly
Kolkata, Dec 5: Activists of Bharat Bachao Sangathan filed an FIR against retired supreme court judge AK Ganguly at Hare Street Police Station in Kolkata.However, cops said action cannot be taken merely based on the complaint of a 'group of protesters'. Police accepted the NGOs' letter and filed an FIR.

Call for AK Ganguly's resignation from West Bengal Human Rights Commission is garnering more support each day.

State Congress leaders on Wednesday accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of leading the protests against the judge since hehas been critical of state government's actions.

TMC's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien said on Wednesday, "It's incumbent upon Justice Ganguly to step down from his position as chairman of WBHRC and restore the sanctity of the office."
