NGO moves Supreme Court seeking CBI probe into Jayalalithaa's treatment, death

PIL also seeks recovery of Jayalalithaa's health records from Apollo Hospital in Chennai

A public interest litigation filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a CBI probe into death of former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader J Jayalalithaa.

In the petition, a Chennai-based NGO has also sought recovery of all documents relating to the deceased leader's health from Apollo Hospital in Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuva Shakti, a Chennai-based NGO in its PIL has highlighted the secrecy that was maintained over the leader's health from the day she was hospitalised on September 22 till the day of her death. The NGO has sought a CBI probe into the same.

This PIL comes days after actor Gautami as well as expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa had sought answers over J Jayalalithaa's death.
