Who is the next UP CM? The suspense continues
There are a lot of factors that are under consideration for the BJP which is in the process of appointing a chief minister in the mighty state of Uttar Pradesh. Several names have been doing the rounds at all MLAs of the party have been camping at the Uttar Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi.

The BJP had tentatively announced that the swearing in ceremony would be held on March 17. There is, however, likely to be a delay and the top brass of the party may want to focus entirely on UP after the floor tests in Goa and Manipur are complete. This would mean that the decision to appoint a UP CM may be delayed by another week, sources indicate.
Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah are very particular that the UP CM must rise above expectations. UP is extremely crucial for the BJP as it needs to win big again in 2019 in order to return to power.
Many in the BJP are in favour of appointing Home Minister Rajnath Singh as the UP CM. Although he has denied it, his name continues to do the rounds. The BJP also is thinking of appointing two deputy CMs in the state. One would be from the backward castes and the other from the upper castes, sources tell OneIndia.
