Next time we will take 3, Amit Shah said after RS polls

The next time we will take all three, said Amit Shah during a late meeting following the Rajya Sabha elections. In Tuesday's elections, Amit Shah and Smriti Irani of the BJP were elected, while Ahmed Patel of the Congress scraped through after a lot of drama.

Amit Shah, the chief of the BJP sat with his MLAs late into the night as the drama unfolded. The BJP had anticipated that Patel would be defeated, but the ECI played spoilsport for the party by invalidating two votes which helped the Congressman enter the Rajya Sabha for the fifth time.

During the meeting of Shah and the legislators, he said the next focus should be the Gujarat assembly elections. We need to win 150 at any cost he said while directing them to gear and put in their best efforts. If we are able to do this, then we can take all 3 seats in the next Rajya Sabha elections, Shah said.

Shah following his victory arrived at Delhi to grand welcome. Party leaders celebrated Shah's victory and also his three years as BJP chief. He said on arrival, " I have been an MLA for 20 years.
