Three Individuals Arrested for Allegedly Abducting Businessman, Extorting Ransom in New Delhi
Three persons were arrested on Monday for allegedly kidnapping a West Bengal-based businessman Babloo Yadav, and extorting around Rs 3 lakh ransom from him. The incident occurred when Yadav arrived in Delhi to purchase apples from Azadpur Mandi. He was abducted by his friend Ajay, who along with others threatened him with dire consequences unless he paid them money.
In a shocking incident in New Delhi, three individuals were apprehended on Monday for the alleged abduction and extortion of a 33-year-old businessman. The trio reportedly extorted around Rs 3 lakh as ransom from the victim, according to police reports released on Monday.
Abduction and Extortion

The episode unfolded on September 20 when Babloo Yadav, a West Bengal-based businessman arrived in Delhi from Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri. Yadav had travelled to the capital city with the intention of purchasing apples from Azadpur Mandi, a wholesale market. He was picked up at the airport by his friend Ajay using a taxi service.
Yadav was then dropped off at Sector-21 in Dwarka by Ajay who subsequently lured him into an isolated flat where one of his accomplices was waiting. Following this, four more accomplices joined them at the flat and forcibly transported Yadav to an isolated dairy farm situated in Bahadurgarh via car.
The Ransom Demand
Once at the farm, they threatened Yadav with severe consequences if he did not comply with their demands for money. They forced him to call his relatives and ask them to send a total sum of Rs 2.7 lakh through five different UPI IDs (Unified Payments Interface). This method allowed for direct bank-to-bank payment transfers which facilitated speedy transactions without any physical exchange of cash.
Release After Payment
Upon receiving the ransom money, they dropped Yadav near Bahadurgarh City Metro Station but not before issuing him another warning against reporting this incident to law enforcement authorities or anyone else.
This case serves as an alarming reminder that crimes such as abduction and extortion are still prevalent within our society despite advancements in technology and security measures. It also points to the need for individuals to remain vigilant in their interactions with others, even those who may be considered friends.
Police Intervention
The police have since arrested the three suspects involved in this case and are currently investigating further into the matter. The identities of the other accomplices mentioned by Yadav are yet to be revealed. This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting calls for increased safety measures and stricter enforcement of law and order.
In conclusion, while it is fortunate that Babloo Yadav was released unharmed after his terrifying ordeal, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that can occur even within seemingly safe environments. It underscores the importance of vigilance and caution when engaging with others, especially in unfamiliar settings or circumstances. Furthermore, it highlights the crucial role played by law enforcement authorities in ensuring public safety and maintaining social order.
