The Railways would start a mechanism which would send messages to passengers about the arrival and departures of train on a real time basis.
The Railways is set to revamp its website and launch a new Anrdoid based mobile application. The app would ensure faster and easier ticket booking.

Among the several new features are display of confirmed tickets, dates to help plan the journey. The app would rely on data analytics which in turn would curb the misuse of Tatkal like facilities.
The Railways would start a mechanism which would send messages to passengers about the arrival and departures of train on a real time basis. Passengers would also get alerts during their journey in case of a delay and also on how long that train would take to reach. This new feature would be added with the help of ISRO as it would give passengers real time information with the help of satellites.
