New power tariff policy in new year: Piyush Goyal
New Delhi, Dec 19: Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said the new power tariff policy may come in January as the government is stressing on passing important bills including the Whistle Blowers Bill.
"We are busy until December 23. We will focus on the tariff policy in the new year once we are free," Goyal said on the sidelines of the 88th annual general meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci).

Aimed at bolstering the regulatory mechanism of distribution companies, the new policy will encourage swifter rollout of investment in the power sector emphasising on renewable energy.
