New education policy will benefit students, parents: Smriti Irani
New Delhi, Nov 30: The new education policy would help bring about many positive changes in the education system in the country and would equally benefit both students and their parents, the union government said on Monday.
"Initiatives like e-pathshala and 'Saaransh' will help the students and parents," union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani said in the Lok Sabha while replying to questions on the proposed new education policy of the Narendra Modi government.

The minister said students would be empowered through the new education policy, and added that she was yet to receive inputs though she had sent out a letter to all members of the Lok Sabha on the issue.
"...under the e-pathshala programme, books will be made available online free of cost. These will be available on mobile phones also," she told the house.
Under another initiative, 'Saaransh', parents would be directly involved in the educational activities of their children and could get in touch with teachers directly through it, she said.
The Lok Sabha proceedings for the day began with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan leading the house in paying homage to the victims of earthquakes, terror attacks and other tragedies across the world.
Underlining India's stand against all kinds of terror acts, Mahajan said India stood with France and the world against any terror activities.
