The AI Impact Summit 2026 concluded in New Delhi with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration, marking a significant moment in global conversations around Artificial Intelligence governance.

Held from February 18 to 20, the summit drew over five lakh visitors and positioned India at the centre of international AI policy discussions.

Focus On Shared AI Growth

According to the official statement, the declaration underscores that the benefits of AI must be equitably distributed across nations. It calls for balancing national sovereignty with international collaboration while ensuring that AI technologies remain accessible.

The document was endorsed by key global players including the US, UK, China, France, Israel, Canada, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the European Union, among others.
Guided by the principle of "Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya" (Welfare for all, Happiness for all), the declaration emphasises inclusive technological progress.
The declaration outlines action in areas such as:

• Ensuring secure and trusted AI systems
• Expanding access for social empowerment

The summit brought together policymakers, technology leaders and industry experts, reinforcing India's ambition to shape global AI governance and infrastructure development.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw described the summit as a "grand success," stating that India secured infrastructure investment commitments exceeding USD 250 billion.

Emphasis On Collaboration

While the declaration covers multiple themes, its central message remains clear - AI development must not remain concentrated in a few nations. Instead, it calls for cross-border collaboration to replicate AI benefits worldwide.
