NEET UG 2024 Result: Amid the controversy surrounding NEET Result 2024, FAQs related to the post-declaration of the NEET UG 2024 result have been released by the National Testing Agency.

The NEET UG 2024 result was released on June 4, and concerns have been raised by aspirants regarding the exam's conduct, the allocation of compensatory marks to some students, rumours of paper leaks, and other issues.

The National Testing Agency conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) on May 5 for more than 24 lakh candidates. Approximately 13.16 lakh candidates qualified for the NEET results. The exam was conducted in pen and paper mode at 4750 different centres located in 571 cities throughout the country, including 14 cities outside India.

All India Rank has been provided to the candidates by NTA, and merit lists for MBBS/BDS seats falling under their jurisdiction will be drawn by the admitting authorities based on the All India Rank. Compensatory marks were awarded by NTA to 1563 candidates to compensate for their loss of time. As a result of the compensatory marks, two candidates ended up securing 718 and 719 marks.

Role of Grievance Redressal Committee in Granting Compensatory Marks

According to the NTA notice, "Several Writ Petitions were filed by NEET (UG) - 2024 candidates before various High Courts citing loss of exam time at certain centres. In response, a Grievance Redressal Committee was established to evaluate these grievances based on factual reports from officials and CCTV footage from the concerned exam centres. To compensate for lost time, eligible candidates were awarded compensatory marks."

Calculation Method for Compensatory Marks

Compensatory marks were calculated based on the assessment of lost examination time and candidates' answering efficiency, adhering to the mechanism/formula established by the Supreme Court in its judgment dated June 13, 2018, in W.P. 551 of 2018. A total of 1563 candidates received compensatory marks due to time loss.

Ensuring Authenticity of High Scores

NTA implemented stringent measures to uphold exam integrity, including biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, and rigorous invigilation throughout the examination period. Post-exam, NTA conducted a comprehensive analysis, reviewing CCTV footage and verifying the academic backgrounds of top NEET (UG) - 2024 scorers.

Early Declaration of NEET UG 2024 Result

The NTA's notice clarifies, "The result of all exams is released after the answer key challenge window, aligning with our commitment to timely results as recommended by the National Medical Commission (NMC). This scheduled result date is independent of general election outcomes and aims to expedite counselling and admissions for the benefit of all candidates."

Additionally, NTA emphasizes, "It is noteworthy that NTA consistently announces examination results within a month, whether conducted in CBT mode or offline mode."

A High-Powered Committee has been established to review the cases of approximately 1563 candidates who received compensatory marks due to time loss during the NEET (UG) - 2024 examination. It is important to note that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education authorized NTA to conduct NEET UG starting in 2019.
