In anticipation of the counselling schedule's release, it is important for students to understand the registration process thoroughly. They should visit the official MCC website, navigate to the PG Medical Counselling section, and click on the link designated for online applications. Following this, candidates must input the required information, submit it, and then log in to fill out their application form fully. It is imperative to upload all necessary documents and save a copy of the submission for future reference.

The urgency of conducting the NEET PG 2024 counselling in a timely manner has been highlighted by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in a letter addressed to Union Health Minister JP Nadda. The IMA expressed concern over the delays caused by an ongoing case in the Supreme Court, which has resulted in considerable anxiety among NEET PG aspirants nationwide. These candidates, having dedicated immense effort to qualify for postgraduate medical seats, find themselves in a state of prolonged uncertainty regarding their futures due to the legal proceedings. This delay not affects the candidates but also hampers the operational efficiency of healthcare institutions, which rely on the timely induction of postgraduate students to maintain an adequate workforce in hospitals and medical colleges.

The IMA's letter to the Ministry emphasized the critical challenges that healthcare institutions face due to the counselling delays. It earnestly requested the Ministry's intervention to engage with relevant authorities, including the Supreme Court, to expedite the case resolution. Moreover, the IMA suggested that the government should consider implementing interim measures to begin the counselling process, thereby protecting the interests of both the students and the healthcare system.
