NEET on schedule: SC says exam will be held on May 7
The NEET examinations will be held as per schedule on May 7. The Supreme Court on Monday refused to reschedule the date of the NEET examination which will be held on May 7.
Several aspirants had moved the SC raising concerns about the 25 years age limit and three attempts for NEET. They sought that the date be changed citing that the CBSE and UP Board Exams that will end would hardly give them any time to prepare for the medical entrance exam.
The petitioners pointed out that while the last exam for UP board students is on April 21, those appearing for CBSE will end their class XII exam on April 29. The NEET has been scheduled for May 7, the petitioners contended.
The age limit of 25 years was scrapped by the SC. Earlier students had the option of state medical entrance exams, but that too has been scrapped, the petitioners contended.
