Need Death Penalty For The Killer: Father Of Delhi Girl Killed By Cousin In Heart-Wrenching Video

The father of 22-year-old woman Nargis, who was killed by her distant cousin Irfan on Saturday in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar, broke down while speaking to media hours after the tragic incident.

He has demanded the death penalty for the accused. "We need the death penalty for the accused, nothing less. I had only one daughter...I won't leave him," he said.

The heart-wrenching video of the father grieving over the loss of his daughter has deeply touched people's emotions.

The victim was attacked by the 28-year-old man when she was with him in a park near Delhi University's Sri Aurobindo College. However, the cops have already arrested the accused.

The victim and accused were first cousins, with their mothers as sisters, they said.

As per the police, Nargis and Irfan were in a relationship in the past, and there were discussions about their marriage. However, Nargis's family eventually disapproved of the relationship as he was unemployed.

Nargis had stopped talking to Irfan, which made him even more agitated, police said. She had completed her graduation this year and used to attend coaching classes in Malviya Nagar, they said.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted slamming the state of law and order in the city and urged the Union Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor to take strict measures in that direction.

"Another daughter was brutally murdered in Delhi, it is very sad. Law and order has become a serious issue in Delhi. It is a request to the LG and the Home Minister, make the police a little active. The safety of the daughters of Delhi and the people of Delhi is very important," he said.
