NDA's Commitment to National Progress and Empowering the Poor Emphasised by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) dedication to advancing national development and supporting the underprivileged. This statement was made during a meeting with NDA chief ministers. The gathering, attended by 17 chief ministers and 18 deputy chief ministers, took place at a luxury hotel following the swearing-in of Haryana's new Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, in Panchkula.

PM Modi Highlights NDAs Commitment to Progress

Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and BJP president J P Nadda were present at the meeting. The NDA aims to build on its Haryana election victory as it prepares for upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. "The NDA pledged to intensify its momentum in building a Viksit Bharat envisioned by Modi Ji and further strengthen service to the poor, farmers, women, and youth," Shah posted on X.

Focus on Governance and Development

The meeting involved extensive discussions on governance improvements and enhancing citizens' lives. Modi shared on X, "We had extensive discussions on aspects of good governance and ways to improve people's lives. Our alliance is committed to furthering national progress and empowering the poor and downtrodden." This was the first such conclave of NDA chief ministers in many years.

Nadda highlighted that six resolutions were discussed and unanimously passed during the meeting. He mentioned that Home Minister Amit Shah proposed a discussion on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency's imposition. Shah stated, "Democracy was murdered in 1975 with the Emergency. In 2025, we will discuss the murder of democracy."

Constitutional Milestones

Nadda noted that Prime Minister Modi expressed happiness over Jammu and Kashmir's oath-taking ceremony being conducted under India's Constitution for the first time. Previously, oaths were administered under the state constitution. "For the first time in Independent India, oath-taking programme was held under India's Constitution in J-K too under Modi's leadership," said Nadda.

Rajnath Singh proposed celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of the Constitution in 2025. The PM remarked on this resolution's discussion: "This shows the power of the Constitution and meaning of abrogation of Article 370." Omar Abdullah was sworn in as Jammu and Kashmir's chief minister on Wednesday, marking its first elected government since Article 370's abrogation in 2019.

Resolutions and Future Plans

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presented a resolution addressing misinformation spread during Haryana polls by INDI Alliance. Nadda stated that BJP received support from farmers, youth, sportspersons, and common people. He also mentioned upcoming celebrations for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 100th birth anniversary and tribal icon Birsa Munda's 150th birth anniversary.

Nadda shared that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu discussed Atam Nirbhar Bharat, Digital India, and achieving a USD 5-trillion economy. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami focused on Digital India, while Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis talked about contributing to India's economic goals.

Health Initiatives

The five-hour meeting covered various social and health issues. Nadda mentioned that Prime Minister Modi stressed making India TB-free through a public movement. "We stressed that ek ped, maa ke naam campaign should be promoted as jan andolan," he said. All CMs and deputy CMs described this meeting as fruitful and resolved to achieve these targets with new zeal.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma also attended. Other attendees included Nagaland's Neiphiu Rio, Arunachal Pradesh's Pema Khandu, Chhattisgarh's Vishnu Deo Sai, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Manipur CM N Biren Singh, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang, Tripura CM Manik Saha.

Bihar Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were present along with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. Together they committed to realising their collective vision for a developed India where every citizen thrives.
