NCP and BJP Engage in Verbal Spat Over Organiser Article Critique
In a recent development that has stirred the political landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar found themselves at odds over a contentious article published in 'Organiser', a weekly magazine known for its close ties with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The article in question criticized the BJP's decision to form an alliance with the NCP, sparking a series of reactions from both parties.

Chhagan Bhujbal, an NCP leader and state minister, addressed the media, acknowledging that there might be some truth to the criticisms laid out in the article. He highlighted how the BJP had previously been critiqued for incorporating leaders from the Congress party, including former chief minister Ashok Chavan. Bhujbal also mentioned Milind Deora, another former Congress leader, who was welcomed into CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and subsequently appointed as a Rajya Sabha member. Bhujbal raised questions about the BJP's performance in Uttar Pradesh and other states where it lost seats, challenging the narrative surrounding the party's alliances.
Praful Patel, another prominent NCP figure and Rajya Sabha MP, offered a different perspective by suggesting that an article in a weekly magazine should not be seen as reflective of the BJP's official stance. He urged for a more cautious interpretation of such publications.
However, Sooraj Chavan, leader of the NCP's youth wing, took a more confrontational approach. He criticized the tendency to attribute the BJP's successes to the RSS's efforts while blaming failures on Ajit Pawar. His comments underscored a growing tension between the two parties over their political narratives and alliances.
In response to these criticisms, BJP MLC Pravin Darekar defended the RSS, likening it to a paternal figure within the political landscape. Darekar called for restraint in commenting on the RSS and suggested that such issues would be better addressed during National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meetings rather than through public discourse.
The exchange between these political figures highlights underlying tensions within coalition politics in India. It also reflects broader debates about party alliances and their impact on political outcomes. As both parties navigate these challenges, their strategies and responses will likely continue to shape their public perceptions and electoral prospects.
