NBW against Mallya- He has scant regard for the law says court
The court said that Mallya had no intention of returning. Further it also observed that despite so many reminders, there has been no response.
Vijay Mallya has been served with yet another non-bailable warrant. While coming down on the liquor baron heavily, a Delhi court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. The court was hearing a case under the negotiable instruments act (Cheque bounce).
The court said that Mallya had no intention of returning. Further it also observed that despite so many reminders, there has been no response. This shows that he has scant regard for the law, the court also said. The court said that despite us issuing summons, Mallya has not responded to the same and hence a non-bailable warrant was being issued.
It may be recalled at a Mumbai court too had issued a non-bailable warrant against Mallya in a cheque bounce case. The Supreme Court too is seized off a matter relating to Mallya. The consortium of banks had approached the top court seeking a directive to Mallya to return to India and repay the loan amount running into nearly Rs 9,000 crore.
