Naxals resort to violence, plant IEDs near polling booths in Ch'garh
"The strategy of planting explosives near polling stations was used in previous elections to deter government officials and security forces from conducting polling. This time again they are reportedly doing the same," said a senior IB official.
With an intention to cause maximum damage to the security forces and the public, the Naxals have planted IEDs in the Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts. While security officials are on their guards, the main target areas include Kokrajhar, Benoor, Dhaudai, Orchha, and Idka of Narayanpur district and Bayanar, Mardapal and Bade Dongar area of Kondagaon.
Officials also confirm such possibilities as the elections are slated after the rains and it is easier for the Naxals to plant bombs under wet mud.
