Naxal attacks in India: A timeline since 2008
Naxalite attacks have been on the rise. On Monday a CRPF party was ambushed in which 25 jawans lost their lives.
The naxalites have been on the rampage and on Monday in an ambush 25 jawans of the CRPF made the supreme sacrifice at Chhattisgarh. Since the past decade, Naxalite violence has claimed many lives.

Here is a timeline of naxal related incidents since 2008:
June 29, 2008: Maoists carried out an attack on a boat at Odisha's Balimela reservoir. 38 troops were killed.
July 16, 2008: Naxals kill 21 policemen after blowing up a police van at Odisha's Malkangiri district.
April 13, 2009: Naxals kill 10 paramilitary troops in eastern Odisha.
April 22, 2009: Naxals hijack a train with at least 300 people on board. They, however, fled when the train stopped at Latehar in Jharkhand.
May 22, 2009: 16 police personnel are killed in a Naxal attack at Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.
June 10, 2009: Nine security personnel die in a Naxal attack at Saranda forest in Jharkhand.
June 13, 2009: 10 policemen killed in two landmine attacks and a bomb blast in Bokaro killed 10 policemen.
June 16, 2009: 11 police officers were killed in a landmine attack carried out by Naxals in Beherakhand in Palamau district, Jharkhand. Four policemen killed in a separate incident.
July 18, 2009: Villager killed by naxals in Bastar.
July 27, 2009: Six killed after naxals trigger a landmine in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district.
September 4, 2009: Maoists kill four villagers of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.
September 26, 2009: Sons of BJP MP from Balaghat Baliram Kashyap killed at Pairaguda village in Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh.
October 8, 2009: 17 policemen killed in Naxal attack at Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.
February 15, 2010: 24 personnel of the Eastern Frontier Rifles shot dead by Maoists at Sealdah, West Bengal.
April 4, 2010: 11 personnel of the Special Operations Group killed in a landmine blast in Koraput district in Odisha.
April 6, 2010: 75 CRPF personnel killed in a Naxal attack in Dantewada district. A state police official was also killed in the attack.
May 8, 2010: Naxals carry out an explosion of a bullet-proof vehicle in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district in which eight CRPF personnel are killed.
June 29, 2010: 26 CRPF jawan killed in Maoist ambush attack in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district.
October 18, 2012: Maoists kill six CRPF jawans and eight left injured including a deputy commandant in the force at Gaya.
May 25, 2013: 25 leaders from the Congress party were killed including former state minister Mahendra Karma. Chhattisgarh Congress chief Nand Kumar Patel was also killed in a Maoist attack in Darbha valley in Chhattisgarh.
July 2, 2013: The Superintendent of Police for Pakur, Jharkhand and four other police officials killed an attack by Naxals in Dumka.
February 28, 2014: Six police personnel including an SHO killed in a Naxal attack at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.
March 11, 2014: 15 security personnel killed in a Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.
March 12, 2017: 12 CRPF jawans killed in a Maoist attack in insurgency-hit Sukma district in Chhattisgarh.
April 24, 2017: 25 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force in attack at Chhattisgarh's Sukma.
