Navjot Singh Sidhu To Face The Heat, Know Why

For not following the party's directions and skipping election planning meetings without any prior information, Congress may take strict action against veteran leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. According to the reports, the grand old party may take disciplinary action against the former Punjab Congress chief as he skipped an important meeting held on February 1, where almost all state leaders were present including the state chief Devendra Yadav, who discussed strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Notably, reports suggested that Sidhu held a parallel meeting at his residence with some other Congress leaders which was not liked by the state party leaders, resulting in demand for action against Sidhu.

Reports added that the party is likely to serve a show cause notice to Navjot Singh Sidhu for skipping the meeting, despite the fact that he is an important member of the election committee and for organizing a parallel meeting.

Media reports also suggested that Punjab Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav has reported the matter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and an action is expected to be taken when Congress President will visit Samrala on February 11.

Some party leaders also accused Navjot Singh Sidhu of holding separate rallies, and public meetings without discussing it in advance, which was clearly an indisciplined behavior.

However, Siddhu made it clear that discipline should not imply differently when he met Devender Yadav last month.

"I told Yadav that discipline is for everyone. It cannot be one thing for a few and something else for the rest of the people," Sidhu said.
