Naveen Patnaik Rallies Support for BJD with Bhubaneswar Roadshow
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to the streets of Bhubaneswar on Thursday, leading a vibrant roadshow in a bid to garner support for his party, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), ahead of the upcoming elections. Flanked by his close aide VK Pandian, Patnaik made several stops during the roadshow to address the gathering, emphasizing the significance of voting for the conch, BJD's election symbol. The event marked a significant moment in the state's political landscape as it drew large crowds eager to catch a glimpse of their Chief Minister in person.

The roadshow commenced at Ganganagar Chhak under strict security measures, with enthusiastic supporters and curious onlookers lining up along the route. Susama Behera, a local housewife, expressed her excitement about seeing the Chief Minister up close, a sentiment echoed by many in attendance. As Patnaik's convoy made its way through key landmarks such as Gopabandhu Chhak and Master Canteen Square, he acknowledged the crowd with waves and greetings, culminating the procession at Sisu Bhawan Square.
Speaking before the event, Patnaik shared his joy in meeting the people of Bhubaneswar, highlighting the close connection he feels with the citizens. The roadshow not only served as a platform for political outreach but also demonstrated Patnaik's personal commitment to engaging with his constituents. Security was heightened throughout Bhubaneswar, with traffic diversions implemented to ensure a smooth progression of the roadshow.
The electoral battle in Bhubaneswar is set for May 25, with the BJD positioning itself strongly against its rivals. The party has nominated Manmath Routray to contest against BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency. In addition, BJD has re-nominated key figures such as MLA Ananta Narayan Jena for Bhubaneswar Central, minister Ashok Panda for Bhubaneswar-Ekamra, and MLA Susant Rout for Bhubaneswar North in the assembly elections.
This strategic mobilization by Patnaik and his party underscores their determination to retain influence in Odisha's political arena. With the roadshow drawing significant public attention and support, it reflects the deep-rooted connection between Patnaik and the people of Odisha, setting a vibrant tone for the upcoming electoral contest.
