The party has nominated Manmath Routray to contest against BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency. In addition, BJD has re-nominated key figures such as MLA Ananta Narayan Jena for Bhubaneswar Central, minister Ashok Panda for Bhubaneswar-Ekamra, and MLA Susant Rout for Bhubaneswar North in the assembly elections.

This strategic mobilization by Patnaik and his party underscores their determination to retain influence in Odisha's political arena.
