Lucknow, February 2: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, also known as the Women's Reservation Act, will ensure that women have a strong presence in state assemblies and Parliament. Speaking at the launch of the Shakti Vandan Abhiyan organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Lucknow, Adityanath emphasized the significance of this legislation in empowering women in politics.

Nari Shakti Vandan Act: A Milestone for Women's Representation

The Nari Shakti Vandan Act mandates a 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Adityanath expressed confidence that this Act will pave the way for increased participation of women in decision-making bodies, breaking down barriers and ensuring equal opportunities for women in politics. He emphasized that no political party can now prevent women from reaching the legislative assemblies and Parliament, as the Act provides a strong legal framework for their representation.

Additionally, Adityanath highlighted the success of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which has enrolled 17 lakh daughters, and the Mukhyamantri Mass Marriage Scheme, which has facilitated dowry-free marriages for over three lakh women.
