Lucknow, February 2: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, also known as the Women's Reservation Act, will ensure that women have a strong presence in state assemblies and Parliament. Speaking at the launch of the Shakti Vandan Abhiyan organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Lucknow, Adityanath emphasized the significance of this legislation in empowering women in politics.

The Nari Shakti Vandan Act mandates a 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. He emphasized that no political party can now prevent women from reaching the legislative assemblies and Parliament, as the Act provides a strong legal framework for their representation.

Reflecting on the recent consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Adityanath hailed it as a momentous achievement under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adityanath expressed pride in the fact that Ayodhya Dham in Uttar Pradesh has become a global attraction, drawing people from all over the world.

Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Modi's inclusive approach to governance, emphasizing that various schemes have been formulated to benefit farmers, women, youngsters, and people from all sections of society. He highlighted that these schemes have been designed without discrimination, ensuring that the benefits reach the intended beneficiaries. Adityanath asserted that under Modi's leadership, a new India has emerged, where half of the country's population has been included in these welfare initiatives.

The Chief Minister also highlighted several schemes that demonstrate the government's respect for women. He mentioned the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Account, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matru Vandana, and Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana as examples of initiatives that empower women. Additionally, Adityanath highlighted the success of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which has enrolled 17 lakh daughters, and the Mukhyamantri Mass Marriage Scheme, which has facilitated dowry-free marriages for over three lakh women.

The Shakti Vandan Abhiyan launch event was attended by several prominent BJP leaders, including State BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP's State General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal Singh, and State Mahila Morcha President Geeta Shakya. Their presence underscored the party's commitment to women's empowerment and the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act.
