PM-like facility to Narendra Modi even before 2014 war; Rahul jealous?

New Delhi, Nov 4: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi might be surprised as Intelligence Bureau (IB) alerts state governments to beef up securities for his "biggest" political opponent -- Narendra Modi. According to sources, the Gujarat CM will now receive special securities which are generally enjoyed by former and serving prime ministers and their families.

Days after Patna blasts, an IB official, on the condition of anonymity, claimed that terror group Indian Mujahideen (IM) has been preparing to kill BJP's PM candidate. Increasing security arrangement for Modi, the official informed that IM kept Narendra Modi is "way above everyone else on their hit list."

The official also informed that an elite team protecting Modi were asked to secure all public meetings using the same tactics of the Special Protection Group that guards former and serving prime ministers and their families along the lines of the US Secret Service.

Spotters in disguise will mingle in the crowds while an advance team will "sanitise" sites six times, the last time an hour before Modi's arrival, stated media reports.

"Sewage pipes, manholes, you plug every hole in the ground and above," CNN-IBN quoted an official. The security measure has been taken after the Patna serial blasts which killed six persons and injured many.

Rahul, during his recent election campaign rally, told about his own assassination. The young Gandhi family scion is also getting special security for being a family member of for Indian prime ministers.

Speaking about deaths of his father Rajiv Gandhi and grandmother Indira Gandhi, Rahul said that he could be next to fall to the politics of hate.

Security officials will face a tough challenge in upcoming future as Modi will address several rallies trying to woo the voters. Five crucial states -- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Delhi are going to hold election by the end of 2013. The election results will be very crucial for both Congress and BJP. Both parties have been preparing for the mega war -- Lok Sabha elections 2014.
