Narendra Modi praises National Civil Aviation Policy 2016
New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the National Civil Aviation Policy 2016 will "transform" the aviation sector and "greatly benefit passengers".
Commenting on the policy cleared by the Union Cabinet earlier in the day, Modi said it would also help in enhancing regional connectivity in India.

"#CivilAviationPolicy gives an impetus to affordability, regional connectivity, safety, infrastructure, which is vital for #TransformingIndia," the Prime Minister wrote on Twitter.
"The #CivilAviationPolicy approved today by the Cabinet will transform the sector & greatly benefit passengers," Modi added.
Earlier in the day, India unveiled its long-awaited aviation policy with a roadmap to support 300 million air travellers in five years and steps to make air travel affordable and convenient.
