Narendra Modi in Canada: What Canadian media is saying about Indian PM

Bengaluru, April 15: Prime Minister of India -- Narendra Modi reached Canada on Tuesday, April 14.The PM arrived in Ottawa on the last leg of his three-nation tour after successful visits to France and Germany.

Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit Canada in 42 years since Indira Gandhi visited in 1973.

In Canada, Modi will meet his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper and the captains of major Canadian companies, apart from addressing the Indian diaspora there.

Toronto Star: Modi's message that India was "open for business" as a rising economic power was what made his visit to Canada all the more "significant".

Metro: It's not often that thousands of people line up for hours to see a bespectacled man with a grey beard. Or hang on his every word for almost an hour and then chant his name in unison.
