of educationist Kireet Joshi.

He said in a statement: "Saddened by the demise of Kireet Joshi. He will be remembered as a fine scholar and educationist, devoted to the principles of Sri Aurobindo."

Kireet Joshi was an Indian philosopher. In 1976, the Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, appointed Kireet as Education Advisor to the Government of India. He also served as the Chairman of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research.

Modi recalled that when he was chief minister of Gujarat, Kireet Bhai, as an advisor, played a key role in setting up a children's university and an institute of teacher education.
